(Jon sez:)
I'm writing this column without having seen today's update, as I need to be
away from my computer, so please accept my apologies if my commentary
diverges from the actual content of the page you see above.
Mark's art is glorious. I find the artistry displayed in the panels
containing the giant armada of Space Turnips to be without equal. The army
of Santa's elves is so well drawn that one can distingish every pointed ear
under its combat helmet. And I find myself speechless before the command of
linework and shading which is evident in Mark's rendition of the Battle of
Midway in the medium of crayon and lighter fluid.
Blatant Plug: Come to Otakon!

(Mark sez:)
I was planning a big space turnip battle sequence for today's page, but decided to can it at the last minute. I hope Jon got my e-mail. Anyhoo, I just want to say that I dig the dialogue on this page. I knew the whole thing about Mars and group minds and whateversuch needed to all be on one page for the best rhythm, so a bit of shoving was needed to make it all fit. I'm more than a little proud of how well that worked out.
Yes, Otakon is coming up, and both Jon and I are gonna be there 'cause it's our jobs. MoS has run for ten weeks now without interruption, and that's pretty darn good; so far, it looks like the con will cause no interruption in service. Cross fingers.
