"...facing yourself is no fun, after all, and the
character often winds up like your voice on a tape recorder --
foreign, strange, and oddly tinny." - anon. |

My name is Mark. I live in Madison, Wisconsin, where I make video games for a living. I'd go on, but I'm not really very interesting. As for this website, it is largely concerned with online comic art. I've been into comics ever since I doodled silly pictures of myself and my classmates during advanced placement history classes in high school. At one point I entertained the notion of actual paper publishing, but the idea of making a living drawing comic books makes about as much sense as becoming a computer game programmer to meet women. I was wise enough to happily abandon my comics ambition and never look back... or so I thought. As it happens, the arrival of the World Wide Web and online comics as a medium gave my old hobby a new lease on life. I don't consider myself particularily professional; the best I can say is that from time to time, my art rises to the level of "competent." Fundamentally, I do comics because I like to tell stories even though I'm no good at it. If anyone else out there happens to like these things, then that makes me happy. But I'd do it even if no one else on Earth was reading. (That's a lie, of course.)
"Comic book artist" is not the full extent of my nerdiness. Some links to other stuff I've created or been involved in, now or in the past:
