Your Writer: Jon Kilgannon We've seen someone else say, like Doctor Haas, "In a perfect world, yes." Since mad science is a memetic disease, perhaps this is a clue as to the form of the meme complex.

Moving to other topics, the Venusian automated taxi on this page is unornamented and plain, built with an eye towards utilitarianism. Mars also has an automated transit system, but the cars in the Martian tubeway are handsomely appointed and quietly luxurious. Much of the difference between the two societies can be discerned from these two sets of facts.

Traversing to yet a third topic: Several more people were kind enough to email me with location data. I'll put up an update on Thursday.

Your Artist: Mark Sachs I just want to say that I totally empathize with Dr. Haas in this scene. Myself, I've been playing Burnout 3 all weekend and among other things, I still haven't unlocked the fire truck. When I do get a chance, though, I'll probably go back and improve the shading on this page to match 223. If I can figure out a good way to do it I'll also put in a shiny-slick effect on the blacktop and color in the water puddles.

Also: Seems like this is as good a time as any to give a shout-out to all our new readers from Iceland. Hi there, Iceland!
